I swear I'm still alive...

I've just been insanely tired, irritable, and naseous, which I think is a good excuse for my failure to post. Plus, last week I was diagnosed with superficial thrombophlebitis (blood clot in non-life-threatening vein for those of us who are not md's), which had me laid up in bed with my leg raised for a few days. Not yet "all better," but getting there. In the meantime, I've gotten some knitting done. I finished the knitting part of the first baby sweater, now I just have to sew all 8 million tiny parts together (fine, there aren't 8 million parts, just 8). I will eventually post more as well as put some friggin' pictures up.

Pregnancy is not bringing out the best in me so far...

Favorite Color Swap Questionnaire

1. What are your top three favorite colors?
Blue, especially aqua
Green, especially lime
Purple, no especiallies

2. What crafts do you really enjoy?
Knitting. There are others, but I spend the bulk of my time with my circs.

3. What products do you really covet?
I am dying, DYING, to try out some Socks That Rock. There's this amazing brown and blue colorway they've got right now. There are really too many pretties for me to actually order one yet.

4. What other activities do you enjoy besides your favorite crafty things?
I enjoy reading, spending time with my husband and dog, and watching television.

5. Is there anything you collect?
Lip gloss, apparently. It's an addiction, not a choice.

6. What is your zodiac sign and/or Chinese zodiac symbol?
Virgo.

7.What are your favorite…

…scents/smells?
Grapefruit or other citrus

…types of music and/or bands?
I'm kinda into everything, but I stick mostly to indie.

…authors?
Too many to list

…animals?
Dogs and MONKEYS (new world, old world, and great apes all incuded under this generic moniker).

…places to shop?
Yarn shops. Gift shops.

…season?
Summer

…yarn/fabric/paper/other craft supplies?
??? How can you have a favorite?

…candies or goodies?
All candies are yummy. Especially dark chocolate.

8. Do you have any wish lists?
Amazon

9. Are you allergic to anything?
All nuts (anaphylaxis--no joking) and cat dander

10. Do you have any pets? What are they?
Dog. His name is Marley, or Marls for short.

11. Please include anything else you would like your secret pal to know about you- anything that would be helpful in finding you little gifts that you will really enjoy.
Again, I have a serious allergy to nuts of all kinds, so if you find little edible treats, please check the label to see if it was manufactured in a plant that processes nuts. If you don't want to bother with edible treats, since this is a huge pain in the ass, I totally understand. :)

B.K.

So that's the name a co-worker has given to the embryo. Short for Baby Kenny, of course. At first I thought it sounded weird--I kept thinking "BK Broiler" and Josh was reminded of British Knights shoes--but it's kinda sticking now, so that's what the embryo will be called for now.

I had my first appointment today. They basically just made me take a pregnancy test again (still pregnant!), and asked me a couple questions before asking me to make another appoinment to meet the nurse midwives and discuss the pregnancy further, do tests, etc. I'm pretty excited about the hospital. They've had nurse midwives there for over 35 years... Yay! I'll be damned if I'm going to be strapped to a bed when giving birth. That's the worst idea ever, why do people not realize that more often?

I'm having awful nausea and heartburn and cannot wait for it to go away. Sometimes it's so bad I have to just stand because laying down, and especially sitting, make me so crazy sick I almost throw up. Egh. Josh thinks I'm weird because I'm eating way less and very limited foods, but the nurse today said it was totally fine and normal at this point. So, nyah!

On a non-pre-natal note, here's a pic of Marley being adorable. He's reacting to a hand vacuume. Competition? He was barking like crazy, which was hilarious because he usually NEVER barks.

Natural fiber swap

I got my package from the natural fiber swap today. It's awesome. Thanks Katrina!

It's a skein of Interlacements Toasty Toes in a beautiful colorway, and a skein of Blue Sky Cotton, which is so soft it's hard to believe it's actually cotton.

SP9 final package & reveal!

I got my final SP9 package last week from my secret pal, Alyson at The YoYo Knits. She has been the worlds BEST secret pal (sorry everyone else...). It's like she could read my mind. Anyhow, here's the haul...

And a few close ups for detail... And bragging. The aqua yarn is hand-spun by my pal. It is so beautiful I can't even believe it!!! The necklace is a mini slice of lasagna (my favorite food...). Yummm...

She even included a special treat for Marley. He was very excited and devoured it almost instantly. He's like a dog vacuum. Not kidding. He eats everything he can fit in his mouth.

In other news, I finished my Kureyon mistake rib scarf last weekend as well. Here it is in all its glory.
